Welcome to GirlBlues.com! Thanks for visiting my internet home. I hope there is something I can offer to make you feel more at home! On the left are the links to my endeavors, things in which I put my blood, sweat and tears. On the right, some things I found interesting or helpful. There are also some things I like on which I make money if you click on them. No one can say that I wasn't honest! Please take a moment and sign my guestbook. I appreciate you taking the time to say hello! Thank You! Missy What's new? I am always into something new, What would be asked is what still holds my interest? As you can see by my extensive list on the left, I am trying new companies. I will tell you about them as I go. Mind you, I tried a few at home businesses and I invested in opportunities that sounded good, I may have lost money in some, yet I still learned something, I cannot take that as a loss. If you are looking for a business and go through a loss, don't give up! Look at what you learned and learn from your mistakes. Mistakes are a good thing once you realize they are made so you can learn from them, you grow as a person! Keep looking, you will find something. There are the opportunities that worked great for me. I can only sell something in which I really believe! It took me a while to find a good fit. I am a skeptic, I am an unripened fruit, a 'Green Apple.' After thinking it over, then researching, I sometimes jump into something and later realize I don't like it, but sometimes I love it. Other times I think it over for a year and wait for a sign, and come to find out that I should not have not hesitated! Overall, I try to trust my instincts. Temptations Parties Many who know me will tell you that I thoroughly enjoy my Temptations Parties business and that I do quite well with it. I love getting paid to party! I thought about doing this type of business since 1999 when one of my friends, Kathy, told me she was doing well selling adult products. I looked into different companies, I read about Fantasia, Passions, Surprise and a few others. When I saw an ad in the Adam & Eve catalog that said I could earn 50% of my sales, I called! When I found out they allowed couples and GLBT people at the parties I was thrilled. The other companies only allowed women and I feel that is discrimination. I was also told this would be my business to do what I chose. I purchased the lowest kit which was only $25 at that time and made $175 in my first catalog party! 7 times my investment! I later bought a big kit and started doing in-home parties, word of mouth spread and I was having a great time. When I had a multiple sclerosis attack, I had to take it easy with my parties. The company understood and I did not lose my place at the companyu, other companies make you inactive if you do not order after 2 months. I knew I made the right decision and was with the right company! After volunteering with VDay, I realized how I really wanted to empower couples and women. This has become my mission! During a lull with the parties, a weird thing happened. After I was with the companies for 5 years, I found out the parent company PHE, Inc. was started in an effort to help people in third world countries. It turns out The owner of the company is a philanthropist! When he was in India feeding starving children, he noticed how more and more children kept coming. He started to realize the bigger problem was poor birth control practices. With the help of others, he created a mail order condom business to help fund his cause. This is where the Adam & Eve company started, to help fund better birth control in poor countries! I fell in love with the company all over again! January 22, 2008 will be my 6th year as a Romance Consultant and it has been a wonderful 6 years. Did you know I had stage fright? Even though I was always outgoing and able to talk to people I hardly knew, I had a problem with an audience. My first party I hid my face behind my script that I was reading painfully slow, trying desperately not to screw up! Hands shaking, stuttering and hiding behind an 8.5 x 11 inch paper! Did I really think they could not see me? Same thing happened during a presentation I made in my sociology class, hiding behind a sheet of paper in plain view! I had cotton mouth and my upper lip stuck to the top of my teeth. My presentation was not supposed to be a growl! I became determined to get over my fear! After years of speaking in front of an audience, I finally got the nerve to go on stage at VDay 2005. It was a short part called A six-year old girl was asked..." I played both the person interviewing the 6 year-old and the 6 year old girl. I thought it would be cute to read my monologue off a paper cut out of a butterfly. I shook so badly that the paper nearly flew away! Imagine the wings flapping! BUT - i did it! I still try to get over my fears. It can be funny! Shaklee In my search for a vitamin company, I came across two that I wanted to join. One was relatively new, but I really wanted to try one product they carried, Then I came across Shaklee, an all natural supplement company. They are animal safe (check the PETA website!), and extremely Environmentally Friendly! When I joined as a Gold Ambassador, they planted 10 trees to reverse any impact on the environment! They also carry cleaning products that are highly concetrated, just add water! This reduces unnecessary bottles that end up going into the trash, that would mean less labels are made for the bottles, less boxes are used to ship the product, and it saves on emissions because less is shipped. I am sure it goes much deeper than this simple analogy, much like the foot bone is connected to the leg bone. (What about the other foot bones? and aren't there two leg bones?) Anyway... I signed up the other day, I will report back! Mary Kay I was introduced several times to Mary Kay, but it always felt that the focus was on the makeup, and I often felt like a clown in the colors that were suggested to me. In 2002, Lisa, who worked with a friend of mine, had me try the skin care at a meeting we had at her home. I loved it! It was the ONLY thing that cleared my skin! I bought the set and soon after signed up to be a pink lady! When I was sick, unfortunately, I had to put it on the back burner. I do plan on going back, but I have to try something before I do. I have to try Shaklee's skin care! Noah's Ark Workshop Similar to the stores where kids stuff their own animals, except it is in at an in home setting. The stuffed animals are so soft and cuddly - I love them! I think this would make a great fundraising event for children in schools or churches. If you have children and are expecting another child, you can have a party for your older children to stuff animals to give to the youngest or have a baby shower where everyone gets together to stuff animals as a gift. it is a wonderful interaction party! Not finished Pink Lady Bug Spa Country Charm Scents Prim My Pad Forever N Always Blessed Toys My Power Mall affiliates - godaddy, dealdotcom, rules for renegades, passion test Not finished With ACN - this was not for me. I know of some folks who love it, but I was not impressed or happy. For me, I think it was the idea that there was no concrete product to sell. I could not actually see or hold the product in my hand. Also, I may have not been to aware of good business practices, but I just could not believe in the products offered. I did, however, learn from the group training. First thing I learned, I LOVE training! Recently, Wayne Teres, Business Director of Temptations Parties, asked me what I liked about the businesses I had in the past. When put on the spot, I only answered that I loved getting together with the groups. After pondering the thought, i figure it may be the motivation you feel even days after meetings are over, or maybe it is the group spirit. I'm not sure, but I was hooked! My recommendation, if you are in a business where they have group meetings, it is emperitaive to go to the meetings or conferences! Second thing I learned by being a rep for ACN (in training, of course), is that in sales, customers are like apples. You have Red Apples, Green Apples and Rotten Apples. Red Apples are ripe for the picking, they are ready and take the opportunity you offer. Green Apples are the ones who are not so sure if they want to try it, the kind that "hmmm" and "haw" and say things like they have to think about it. Rotten Apples are the ones who flat out say no! There is a suggestion on how much to invest in these customers, and to me, it makes a lot of sense. This is also true in life with people around you. Easy as it sounds, but Rotten Apples deserve 0% of your energy. Even in life, if a friend said no, s/he does not want to go to the movies with you, you agree and go about your life. Same with customers, they say no and you go on with your life, otherwise you might end up with a barrel of rotten apples! Why try and make the apple ripe? On the other tree, you may have your Ripe Red Apples, fresh picked and when you offered, s/he said yes to the opportunity. These folks deserve 80% of your time, if customers, they should be lavished in bonuses or gifts. If s/he is a recruit, s/he deserves to be trained and coached to be the best! It is easier and cheaper to keep the customers/recruits you have than it is to find new ones! Loyalty goes a long way! How many brands, stores, restaurants do you frequent? Is it like Cheers? Everyone knows your name? Kind of makes you feel at home! Just like with Apples; Red, Ripe, Juicy, Perfect Apples make the best pies, jams and jellies. Even the bitter apples can make for a good tarty juice when the apple is ripe!You spend hours after picking the ripest apples making something yummy! The majority of your time is spent with these apples. Finally, you offer the last customer type of customer the opportunity/product and s/he says that s/he is not sure. This is your Green Apple. Apples on a tree either ripen or they rot. Like apples on a tree, you allow them time to ripen, you tend to the tree, make sure it is watered and go back in the house to make the apple pie from red ripe apples. With a customer or recruit, you give them the information, check back in to see if they have 'ripened' and of course show them gratitude for your time. On this type of customer you only spend 20% of your time. Remember, some Green Apples are Green when they are ripe! This is why you need to follow through and call back soon to check in and see if s/he is ripe. Please don't bite into apples until you are sure! ;-) VDay is coming, VDay is coming! We are gearing up for VDay 2008 Have you volunteered yet? VDay, a charity performance of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues, raises awareness and money to help women and girls around the world. At your local show, 90% of the money raised goes to your local community for organizations aiding in battered women shelters, dress for success, resource centers for women and girls in need, etc. The other 10% goes to that year's global spotlight cause. Each year the spotlight changes to raise awareness and assist women around the world. The 2008 VDay spotlight is to help The Women of New Orleans. There is a correlation between socio-economical oppression and violence against women and girls - yes, female children whether babies or preteens. Wherever there is an oprssive situation, whether it is war, famine, dictatorship or any other type of oppression, it is usually followed by a higher rate of assaults on women and girls, a higher rate of sexual violence against women - including human trafficking, and opportunities stolen from the women of the area. The Vagina Monologues is a great show, sometimes funny and sometimes poignant, and it is for a great cause! Proceeds help organizations in your area for women who may be abused, raped, beaten, terrorized, etc. and national causes as well. In 2006, the national spotlight is on "Comfort Women" of World War II. Women who were more or less kidnapped and treated like sex slaves. They were raped, violently beaten and even locked up in some Asian countries. These countries have pretended as if this never happened. The V-Day show hopes to put a spotlight on this atrocity in hopes to get an apology and reparation for the many women who have suffered. See the V-Day.org website for more information. Recently many other Temptations Parties and fellow consultants has becomed more involved and are donating at their local shows around the country! V-Day - Until the Violence STOPS! MS Walk Great news! For the 2006 MS Walk, Missy's Motivators beat our goal for fundraising! The team walked in the drizzling rain and not only made our goal, but beat it by $5.00! Thanks to everyone of my friends and family who did what they could so we can find a cure! Every little bit counted! Woohoo!! Will you walk for those who can't? Health In 2003, I was diagnosed with MS, or multiple sclerosis, a disease where my immune system attacks my nervous system and causes all kinds of havoc! A person with MS can have symptoms anywhere on his or her body and it can affect that person in many different ways. One person with MS may not any of the symptoms another person with it does. In me, multiple sclerosis is mostly affecting my vision and balance. It sometimes causes problems with my limbs, but not too often (knock on wood)! I will be getting involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) walks to help them raise money. NMSS has been very helpful to me, they are a wealth of knowledge! I would love to help them back! Book a Temptations Party, get Adam & Eve, Adam Male and Sinclair Intimacy Institute's merchandise!" Chat?
